Djúpavík wedding
Wedding in Djupavik
Hotel Djupavik is one of our most unique hotels in Iceland!
Emma and Ken wanted something very special for their wedding in Iceland and I believe they found what they were looking for! This place is absolutely magical and for those who are looking for a destination with few tourists around this is definitely the place for them. We had such a great time with Emma and Ken in Djupavik this summer and we look so much forward to our future weddings in Djupavik!
We asked Emma and Ken a few questions about their decision on getting married in this remote place in Iceland:
Why would you recommend Iceland as a destination for weddings?
The most dramatic and impressive scenery on planet earth? Check.
Amazing, open, and friendly people? Check.
Absolutely delicious food and tasty treats? Check.
An unparalleled memory that will last forever and bring a smile to your face whenever you think of it? Double Check.
What was the best thing about your trip to Iceland?
Djupavik was staggeringly beautiful with ceremony, community, and celebration equally impressive.
Was getting married in Iceland somehow different from what you expected?
Yes. It was better than our wildest dreams and lived up to absolutely all the hype and expectation that we had built up around it. Just glorious.
“Truly, it was a dream that exceeded all expectations”
What was it like to get married in Djupavik?
This was hands down the second best decision we have made as a couple. The first was to get married. Words cannot describe accurately how impressed we were with everything about the setting, place, and people in Djupavik. From the delightful food to the charming accommodations and breathtaking setting, our group of 42 had an experience of a lifetime. We expected that dragging close friends and family halfway across the globe would lead to some regrets or concerns afterward. There were none. Truly, it was a dream that exceeded all expectations.
Do you have any planning tips for those who would like to get married in Iceland?
If you get married in Djupavik, spend two extra days thereafter the wedding, then travel and explore the impressive country of Iceland for at least another week. There is so much to remember and experience in Djupavik that you just won’t appreciate before your big day. This probably holds true for other locations as well. Also, it might not be as cold as you think it is going to be and you may get lucky with sunshine and blue skies, though shadows and clouds make for unbelievable pictures.
We love being in Djupavik and it´s actually hard to put down in words how great this place is. We will leave you with these great photos taken by:
